This is a unique opportunity that Kathi offers to a limited group of teachers. If you’d like to join or know more about it, let me know, and I will be happy to connect you wtih Kathi.
You can also check out Kathi’s IG and website for upcomign workshops, trainings and challenges.
CEC - Barrels
Going back to the Red Thread Ranch for Continued Education on the Barrels. These CECs are great, as they dive deep into the Red Thread and application of the method for a specific apparatus or condition. Last year was Scoliosis and Back to the Roll Back Bar, this year it is Barrels.
Old School with Sonje and Brook Siler - can't wait
I cannot wait for the old school this year. Workouts 3 days, 7 hrs each day. Kathi, Brook and Sonje will be teaching non-stop for 3 days straight - it will be epic. Kathi started old school 3 years ago and each year it just gets better and better.
Going back to KRN to assist with PPATT 2020 group - Foundational Segment
What an amazing experience - i’m in love….
First, Kathi is an incredible teacher - if you have a chance to meet her/learn from her, drop everything and do it. There is no one in the industry that has such depth of understanding of the Method application, such scientific approach to how the Method works and such an incredible, generous way of sharing this knowledge.
Last year ‘s PPATT had the most talented teachers. I didn’t think it could get any better, then comes PPAT 2020 and this group rocks - they are the most incredible 12 teachers and beautiful souls that I have met so far. How lucky am !?!?:) to make it even better, the other assistance are Katie and Marcia- wow!
I’m learning so much, here is my challenge before the Core Segment.
Work on the technique of the first 7 excercises everywhere in the studio except mat and reformer and see if the reformer improves
Work the foundational reformer and see if you can make clear connection of each reformer excercise to the mat (use what your body have learned on the reformer to make the mat better).
Final test of how you did - do the foundational mat and see if it is now perfect - ish;)
Reformer Weekend with Jay Grimes at Vintage Pilates
Reformer Weekend - Super fun start to the WWJ series. I have been working to prepare for this workshop for almost a year and I’m glad I did. This was a real old-school workout for 3 days non-stop to get the work into your body. I’m glad I had a chance to complete Kathi’s PPATT program a couple of year ago, as it helped me tremendously to prepare for the this work.
Here are some of the cool things to remember about reformer:
Order
Holding the bar and handles
What do reformer noises tell you
How to connected to your center on foot work - try 1 spring
How to get into the hundred from lying flat - try the wall to prep you
Long stretches are all about backbody
Long back stretch and semi-circle - how to connect - the connetion is surprisingly similar
Stomach massage rhythm
how about that tendon stretch - know where you are going and get there
Short box - why is it so important?
backstroke rythm
breaststroke - where doe the arms/hands go? how do you work from your back?
Breathing with straps - how to prepare and confidently execute on the reformer
Snake and twist - don’t forget about the standing leg - that’s your foundation
Balance control off - how do you get back on that reformer?!
side splits -move from your back
